At Cornerstone, we believe in the power of prayer –that “we do not have because we do not ask” (James 4:2). This does not mean that God is obligated to answer “Yes” to our every whim. In fact, sometimes God’s answer to us is “Not yet” or an outright “No.” At the same time, Scripture teaches us that God uses our prayers –that they are “powerful and effective” (James 5:16) – and that we should “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).
