Tree Cooper, Senior Pastoruntitled2

Hi.  My name is Tree and I am actively discovering the height and depth and width and length of God’s love.  I have been at Cornerstone since February.  I’m the new guy.  I have the best job in the world; I am the senior pastor here at Cornerstone.  I am passionate about the Word of God, and I love getting to introduce people to the One True God.  His name is Jesus and He changed everything.
I am married to an amazing woman of God: Robbin.  We have been married since June 2006.  We make each other smile and remind each other what God’s love looks like. We are so grateful to God for our three kids:  Anna (7), Joshua (5), and Daniel (2).  Our kids are the perfect reminder of God’s grace and sense of humor.
I went to Hardin Simmons and Howard Payne in Texas.  I have degrees in Rhetoric, Biblical studies, Theology, and Jeep driving (well, I’m hoping the Jeep driving degree will be available online someday) with emphasis on Biblical languages and Music.  I’ve also done Masters of Divinity work at Gateway Baptist Theological Seminary.
My wife and I share our birthday – February 18
I enjoy the mountains, jeeping, and volleyball courts, but the place I love to be more than anywhere else is standing next to my wife and kids.
The Bible still makes my cry every time I open it. I also love Homer’s “Odyssey” in the original Greek, and “The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning.
I love music!  I especially love music by Ross King, Rich Mullins, or Jeff Hendrick.  And I can listen to Christmas music all year.
Movies & TV:
Star Wars and any show that I can watch while falling asleep next to my wife.
I love writing and editing and reading and learning how to play musical instruments and making waffles on Saturday for my family and math and driving a jeep around Colorado.
Favorite Scripture Verse:
2 Kings 6:16 “Do not fear, for those that are with us are greater than those that are with them”  This verse reminds me that we are never alone when God is pursuing us, and God is pursuing us right now and always.

Favorite Scripture Verse: Ephesians 2:4-5 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,  even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved”
