Worship Minister Job Position

This position requires someone with a servant’s heart, a creative mind, and a passion for worship ministry. The Worship Minister is expected to be a visible and active part of Cornerstone Baptist Church, supporting the Lead Pastor and the congregation in creating a Christ-centered worship environment.

The Worship Minister works closely with the Lead Pastor to lead the church in worship, particularly through music. This includes preparing, coordinating, and delivering spiritually enriching worship experiences that incorporate traditional hymns and contemporary music in a blended worship style.

1. Spiritual Leadership:

• A strong Christian testimony, upstanding character and actively involved in church life.

2. Musical Excellence:

• Exhibits a worshipful presence.
• Exceptional vocal and instrumental skills (piano/keyboard or guitar preferred).
• Ability to perform, lead, and teach both classic hymns and contemporary worship songs.
• Proficient in reading music and teaching basic vocal techniques.

3. Worship Leadership:

• Experienced in leading band-driven worship teams.
• Competent in collaborating with creative/media teams to enhance worship services.

4. People Skills:

• Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Ability to recruit, manage and mentor worship team volunteers.

5. Technical Expertise:

• Experience managing audio and video equipment.
• Familiarity with worship software and media tools.

6. Education & Experience:

• Music training, Bible college, or seminary education preferred.
• Previous ministry or worship leadership experience preferred.

• Will be required to complete a criminal background check.

1. Worship Coordination and Leadership

• Approve and oversee music selections for all church worship services and functions.
• Recruit, train, and oversee musicians for worship teams.
• Lead worship vocally and instrumentally as needed, ensuring a balance between traditional and contemporary music.
• Organize and direct rehearsals, including coordination of sound, visuals, and staging.
• Ensure all lyric slides and media elements are accurate and well-prepared.

2. Service Development and Execution

• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop worship service themes, orders, and transitions.
• Provide creative input for special services and productions, such as Holidays and other ministry events.
• Assist in integrating music, media, drama, and visuals to create a seamless worship experience.

3. Equipment and Resource Management

• Oversee maintenance, repair, and inventory of all audio and video equipment.
• Select and maintain worship software and ensure its effective use.
• Manage the budget for music and media resources, including purchasing equipment and submitting receipts.

4. Ministerial Duties

• Maintain Christian conduct, ministry competence, and a team-oriented spirit.
• Attend all church-wide functions, staff meetings, and other events as required by the Lead Pastor.
• Communicate and coordinate schedules and events with the church’s master calendar.
• Adhere to the church’s Constitution, By-Laws, and Staff Policy Manual.

• Salary Range: $25,000-$40,000 (depending on candidate qualifications)
