Jesse Wyrick

Hello everyone! My name is Jesse Wyrick. I am the Youth Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church. I am so excited to be a part of what God is doing in and around Windsor youth. Are you a parent? I would love to work alongside you as we aim to raise your child(ren) in Christ. Are you a student? I would love to introduce you to the Savior and life that has given mine purpose, passion, and an eternal pursuit. Let’s get to know Jesus Christ together through God’s Word, the Bible, and His people, the Church.

I have been married to my wife Ashley (who currently has blue hair but stand by for continuing changes) since 2009 and we have two kiddos- Abby, born April 2011 and Parker, born March 2014. We also have a playful Boston Terrier, Phoebe, and a rather antisocial cat, Oakley. I am originally from a small town east of Kansas City, MO and can’t believe God would let me serve His people in beautiful Colorado.

Places: Kansas City, my garage, junkyards, and the outdoors.

Books: Some of my most recent reads are The Weary Leader’s Guide to Burnout, Dangerous Prayers, Tired of Trying, The Gospel Comes with a House Key, A Christian’s Guide to Mental Illness, Intentional Parenting, and Am I Enough. I always enjoy reading anything from or about Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Music: In addition to Christian music I love classic country, bluegrass, 90’s/2000’s alternative, blues (B.B. King, Buddy Guy), and anything by Eric Clapton.

Movies and TV: I generally like fast-driving, shoot ’em-up movies and classic car movies like Smokie and the Bandit and Cannonball Run. My favorite movie growing up was Goonies. I also like most things that include Bill Murray and I really like Groundhog’s Day. When I watch TV I like short, somewhat mindless, shows including Family Feud, Judge Judy, Forged in Fire, and Alone.

Hobbies: I like almost all things outdoors. I enjoy hunting, sport shooting (trap and skeet mostly), fishing, working on cars, motorcycle rides, and BBQ.

Favorite Scripture: John 9:4 – “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”
